Where else but UK?

So I haven't commented too much on the Tubby thing.

Want my opinion?
I think like the rest of the country should... Tubby is one of the best coaches in the country, only a decent recruiter though. Let's face it... to reach UK basketball standards, you have to be the best at both of those aspects. So should he have left? No... Should he have gotten someone else to do recruiting for him? Yes... Will this end up being a good move? Yes, most likely. Here's why...

I'm a HUGE Pitino fan. That's the UK basketball I remember the most of in my childhood. He was the one that brought some of the quickest success even after taking over a program that was on the verge of being a laughing stock despite all the history. But he quickly took decent players, and put them on the court with a fantastic freshman player named Mashburn. Yea, Pitino did pretty dang good in my book.

And even when I look back to Tubby's one championship, it was with Pitino's team. Proving, yes, he's just as good if not better of a coach. But it soon became obvious that he was not the recruiter Pitino was.

Why do I bring up Pitino?
Because of the coach I'm almost positive we'll be getting in a couple of weeks.

Billy Donovan has done a bang up job, bringing Florida to be a team to be reckoned with. And he's at a school that on the surface would be a great gig.
But people forget sometimes that Florida is a football first, basketball second school. Even if he does repeat this year... it'll still be a bigger deal to Florida fans that they won the BCS this year.

I really like what the above article says about the situation. But what they don't point out is the obvious.
If Donovan wants to be at a place where not only basketball is king, and is the always competing to be at the top... But also gets the most attention no matter what else is going on. Come on up to the bluegreass Billy!

I mean come on... what other program in the country could steal a bunch of the news headlines without even being in the tourny for a couple of weeks now?! I can only think of a few that could even come close. You think UK is the only team in the country looking for a new coach? Yea right... Seems that way though doesn't it?
Even before Tubby decided to move on... UK was getting press. Before we even lost to Kansas, the stories were going on. After we're out of the dance, it's still going on.

Bottom line... Billy, your team is on the verge of making history... and yet people only want to talk to you about the Blue and White. That should say something about how we'll treat you.
Come on over... we'll make you a Wildcat, and pay you what you deserve.
After all, you're the closest thing to Pitino we'll find.
That is all...
80's Friday continues!

Save it! It’s the future!!!

Dear Friends,

I have just read and signed the online petition:

"Save Internet Radio!"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/SIR2007r/

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
signing yourself.

Best wishes,

Evan Elrod
Ok, that's what they want me to e-mail... But I'm telling you in my own words now.
This law isn't going to help anyone but the big radio stations that can easily make enough money on their streaming services alone. In fact, this will eliminate their competition!
Not only will "Internet only" broadcasters be pushed out because they can't afford to keep their streams afloat... but smaller companies like mine will be pushed back from going online anytime soon.
Seeing that this is my new job, and that I hear from every jock that there are listeners out there that want our radio stations to stream online... don't let them hold us back, because this new law will.
Not only will this hold us all back, but this will make internet readio somewhat regulated. You come to internet radio so you can get something different than what is offered over the air, don't you?!
Then don't let this happen. Sign it, please...
I see very little good that can come of this, if the new licensing law is passed.
It may save traditional radio, and promote the advancement of HD radio... but honestly, I think we'll be missing out on something just as great, (if not better) if we get rid of all the small companies, and the independent broadcasters that are already losing money staying online.

Sign it... If not for reasons you believe, then for me, my job, and my vision of better radio in the future.

Thank you.
ee

Also... make sure and check out the comments on this post... got a nice argument going on.

Cool… literally

I'm not a hippy or anything... but anything to lower bills and such is fantastic.
And I think we slowly need to move toward solutions that will help the world.
This may be a start.

Why it wasn't a thought sooner is way beyond me though. Seems like a pretty simple concept.
Oh well... that's why I'm not a rich man.

The last few weeks have been ridiculously busy, so I apologize to anyone I may have snubbed, or not taken 'time out' for. Hopefully things will be slowing down just slightly now, and I will welcome that with open arms.

I can't seem to wake up... I thought writing this and making the brain work might help. But I think it's just made me more tired... I'll try the shower method.
Everyone have a good day...
NOW!

I can’t believe I’m putting this on…

but I am...

So most everyone knows my hatred of American Idol. And if you didn't, you do now. I think it's stupid. End of story. I try not to watch it... but some girl who shall remain nameless, some how sucks me into the program... let's say her name starts with a B and ends with a rooke.

Anyway, this year is a perfect example of how it is a popularity contest, and not a talent competition. So I've watched like two what I call "See ya!" shows, where they kick some people off. Most of the time, it should be the worst performer... yes? Not so much.

I'll try not to rant on about the skinny long hair punk that is just awful, but somehow still on the show, and about how I can sing Pearl Jam better than the hippy named sundance, a finally, the world can now decide that if you've been naked infront of a camera, you can't be an american idol no matter how good you are. Guess that's why Madonna isn't American anymore? Oh wait, we're still drooling for news of a dead Anna Nicole, watching Brittney's every move, and hoping that another pop star sheds her clothes so we can exploit her too.

On to the real point of the post.

EnVogue had a hit back in 96 called 'Don't Let Go'
The studio cut was cool... but it was the live performance that allowed me to fall in love with the song. I believe the drummer was Lil Jon (not the rapper) who I later saw at a PASIC convention and got to talk to him about that song. It was then that I really wanted to join a live urban or R&B group. Of course, I never did... and probably for the best. But still, the performance if done well still gives me chills and gets me absolutely pumped.

Well, of course... I've got a "see ya" show clip for you now! Don't know the name of this chick, and honestly don't care. I just like listening to the drummer, and she does ok I guess.

UPDATE YOUR COMPUTER!

Thanks to a new energy law I don't understand... Not only do you have to roll your clocks ahead early this year... but I bet you didn't know you have to update your computer this weekend too!

Normally your computer would do this change automatically. Instead, now your computer is out of date. No matter when you got it.

To easily fix this problem there are several solutions. If you've got a yellow shield in the lower right hand corner of your computer screen that keeps on popping up and bugging you... just double click and automatically update your computer.
Another solution is to go to 'Windows Update' in your start menu. It'll either be at the top of the list when you press 'start' in the lower left hand corner... or it will be in the top of the 'All Programs' list.
And the third solution is to download the utility here on my website. This is patch KB928388.
Use this patch if you have Windows.

I would suggest one of the other two options because it's always good to keep your computer updated. But I wanted to give you three options instead of just two.

Any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

I feel that I should post something…

I don't know what that something is.
But I know I've had a lot of thoughts lately that I say, hmmm... i should put that on the site.
Then I forget about it.

So instead of profound thoughts... how about just random thoughts?

I have found that I'm a Nabisco guy... and not so much a Keebler guy. This recent discovery took place in the Jackson Kroger that's close to my apartments. Crackers are rarely a hard choice correct? Well... for me, Zesta the Keebler brand, will just not do. I've found that only Nabisco's Premium brand crackers work for me. Same goes for the wheat thins and other Nabisco stuff that Keebler also makes a version of.

I'll continue this thought into my brain later...
Because if you can't tell, I've been super busy lately... hence the delay in posts.
